Nia Jax is a professional wrestler who signed with WWE in 2014. She formed an alliance with Eva Marie in November 2015 – together they call themselves the Power Alliance. On the January 27, 2016 episode of NXT, Jax (with Eva Marie in her corner) defeated Liv Morgan via pinfall following a leg drop.
Nia Jax was born Savelina Fanene in 1984 in Honolulu, Hawaii. The 6’0” athlete played college basketball at Palomar College in San Marcos, California. Prior to wrestling, she worked as a plus-size model. She is the cousin of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. When asked on WWE Raw in Miami what fans can expect from Nia Jax, The Rock (who stood next to his nephews Jimmy & Jey Uso) said: “You can expect to see someone who’s going to work extremely hard.” He reiterated: “Her number one thing is to work hard.” He added, “I think she’s going to connect with the people, but we’ll see.”
