In the TV movie Surprised by Love, Josie Mayfield (Hilarie Burton) returns to her hometown for her parents’ anniversary party. She reconnects with her high school friend Gridley (Paul Campbell) who is a notorious “underachiever” without a steady job or paycheck. Josie’s parents never approved of Gridley who hasn’t appeared to change much over the years. With the advice of his wise Grandad, Gridley realizes that if he doesn’t commit with Josie, he’s going to miss out “on some of the greatest things in life.”
Grandad is portrayed by the legendary Tim Conway. The comedian is best known from the variety show The Carol Burnett Show
