On the Life in Pieces episode “Soccer Gigi TV Mikey,” while Matt (Thomas Sadoski) takes over as soccer coach for Sophia’s team, John (James Brolin) and Joan (Dianne Wiest) kind of welcome Joan’s nephew Mikey into their home. Mikey does a number of things to make everyone in the Short family uncomfortable, including hitting on his first cousin Heather (Betsey Brandt) and bringing a squealing pig to the breakfast table.
