On the Elementary episode “Miss Taken,” Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) and Dr. Joan Watson (Lucy Liu) keep their cool while investigating the murder of a retired FBI agent. But when Watson discovers that her stepfather Henry Watson has written a crime novel based on her work with Holmes, she freaks out.
Henry is portrayed by veteran actor John Heard. He’s best known for his roles in the Home Alone films (Kevin’s dad Peter McCallister), Big (Tom Hank’s adult rival Paul at the toy company), and Beaches (Bette Midler’s husband John Pierce). Heard has appeared on several TV shows including recurring roles on NCIS: Los Angeles (Special Congressional Investigator Michael Thomas), The Lizzie Borden Chronicles (William Almy), Prison Break (Governor Frank Tancredi) and CSI: Miami (Kenwall “Duke” Duquesne). Elementary airs Thursdays at 10pm on CBS.
