On The Blacklist episode “Mr. Gregory Devry,” while Red Reddington (James Spader) tries to infiltrate a consortium of high-level criminals, the FBI discovers and captures a man who has intel on nearly every Blacklister and says he’s the real Red Reddington. Held captive in the same space-age cell where Liz Keen (Megan Boone) was recently, the “real” Red tells her: “Someone was helping the FBI. Imagine when I realized it was me.” When this new character meets Red (James Spader) he calls him an imposter, which evokes Spader’s signature sinister laugh.
The real Red or imposter is portrayed by Jake Weber. The Englishman is best known for his roles on Medium (Patricia Arquette’s husband Joe Dubois), Tyrant (Jimmy Timmons), Hell on Wheels (John Campbell), The Following (Micah), and in the films Meet Joe Black (Drew) and Dawn of the Dead (Michael). The Blacklist airs Thursdays at 9pm on NBC.
