In the Season 5 premiere of New Girl, Cece Parekh (Hannah Simone) and Schmidt (Max Greenfield) ask Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and Nick (Jake Johnson) to stand with them at their wedding as maid of honor and best man. Jess and Nick are excited and start to plan an engagement party for the couple but things get complicated when Jess invites Cece’s mother, Priyanka Parikh, to the party. When she meets Schmidt, it’s not love at first sight.
Cece’s mom – “Big Mama P” the episode is titled – is portrayed by Anna George. She is best known for her roles on Royal Pains (Rubina Katdare) and in the film The Lovely Bones (Mrs. Singh). Fun fact: This is the second time George is playing Simone’s mother – they starred together in the 2015 film Miss India America. New Girl airs Tuesdays at 8pm on Fox.
