Sarah Barrios of Torrington, Connecticut is auditioning for the 15th and final season of American Idol. It’s not the 20-year-old’s first time auditioning for the show. But it’s the first time she’s made it to the celebrity judging – where she had to perform in front of Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick Jr. — her favorite judge. Barrios explained on her local FOX TV station that she grew up listening to Connick’s music. When it was Spaghetti Night at her family’s house, they would all make spaghetti together and listen to Connick’s music.

Sarah Barrios certainly has the resume to make it far in the competition. In 2014, she won The New England Music Award’s “Best New Act of the Year.” In 2015 she was nominated for “Best Female performer of the Year,” and Connecticut Magazine included her in their “40 Under 40 High Achievers to Watch.” American Idol premieres January 6 at 8pm on FOX.
