Singer/songwriter Erin Willett made it to the semifinals on Season 2 of The Voice (Team Blake). At the time, she had just graduated from Hofstra University (with a degree in marketing, a minor in music). As an overweight young woman on national TV, she felt the pressure of being under the scrutiny of the public eye for the first time. On top of that, off stage Erin was also dealing with the devastating loss of her father to pancreatic cancer. Since The Voice, Erin has gained more than 40 pounds. She’s now joined the cast of The Biggest Loser Season 17 to help her find a healthy way to lose the weight. Her team partner is fellow reality TV star Richard Hatch (Survivor, Season 1).

Erin says once she loses the weight, she “looks forward to feeling unstoppable and powerful, and taking control of my own destiny instead of just going through the motions of the day.” It’s been a while since Willett has released a song (“Out of the Darkness” came out in 2014, see video below) — her fans hope the new Erin will release new music. The Biggest Loser airs Mondays at 9pm on NBC.
