Dakota Johnson has some serious Hollywood pedigree. The daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, Dakota’s grandmother was none other than Hitchcock muse and Hollywood legend Tippi Hedren. (Hint: not a fan of Birds.) To top that off, Johnson’s stepfather during her formative years was actor/director Antonio Banderas. Lesser actresses have wilted under the weight of such family connections — and expectations. Dakota’s sense of humor seems to have protected her against that familiar fate: she’s equally comfortable on The Office and Saturday Night Live as she is in Fifty Shades of Grey.
This year marks the 10th anniversary — they grow up so fast — of Dakota Johnson being named Miss Golden Globe in 2006. The Miss Golden Globe title goes to a young woman with show biz pedigree, but also one who’s an up-and-coming talent in her own right. For ten years now Dakota Johnson has made the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which gives the Golden Globes, look pretty smart.
