American Girl Lea Clark Disappointed In Herself

American Girl announced its 2016 American Girl Doll on Good Morning America. Her name is Lea Clark. She’s a 10-year-old who loves photography and animals. She’ll be the star of an action film which will be released in the summer. Until then, AGD fans/collectors will have to settle for reading about Lea and her adventures in Brazil in Lea Dives In, Lea Leads the Way, and Lea and Camila. All three were written by Lisa Yee and illustrated by Sarah Davis.

In the books, Lea spends a lot of her time proving to her big brother Zac, who’s studying the Brazilian rainforest, that she is brave. “She can’t wait to see the ocean – but quickly realizes she’d rather take photos of it than swim in it. Disappointed in herself, Lea longs to show Zac that she’s as bold and brave as he is.” Lea Clark the doll and the first book, Lea Dives In, will be available for purchase at American Girl on January 1, 2016.
