On Criminal Minds, the BAU are called in to investigate the death of a teenage cheerleader in a small town in Florida. Their challenge is multiplied when they discover that the town is populated mostly by sex offenders. (The episode was inspired by the real town of sex offenders in Florida called Miracle Village.) For the BAU, narrowing down the list of suspects seems impossible. One of the first people they interview is Sheriff Paul Desario, father of two including teenager Riley.

Riley Desario is portrayed by Taylor Spreitler. The 22-year-old actress is best known for her roles on Melissa & Joey (Lennox Scanlon), the hulu series Casual (Mia), and the daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives (Mia McCormick). Spreitler just completed filming of the horror film Amityville: The Awakening with Bella Thorne and Jennifer Jason Leigh. It will be released in April 2016.
