On the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode “Depravity Standard,” the trial of child abductor Lewis Hodda gets complicated when a plea deal is rejected. It’s the case that has haunted Detective Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) throughout her career. On the stand, Benson says Hodda confessed. Hodda says he’s innocent, the cops framed him. ADA Rafael Barba (Raúl Esparza), tries to use evidence that’s decades old, which leads to a confrontation between him and former SVU colleague Dr. Huang (B.D. Wong).
Lewis Hodda is portrayed by Tom Sizemore. He’s best known for his tough-guy roles in the films Born on the Fourth of July, True Romance (Cody Nicholson), Natural Born Killers (Detective Jack Scagnetti), Witness to the Mob (John Gotti), Heat (Michael Cheritto), Saving Private Ryan (Sergeant Horvath), Pearl Harbor (Sgt. Earl Sistern), and Black Hawk Down (McKnight), among others. He is married to actress Maeve Quinlan (90210, The Bold and the Beautiful). Law & Order: SVU airs Wednesdays at 9pm on NBC.
