Throughout the entire first season of The Jacksons: Next Generation, Taryll, TJ and Taj Jackson struggle to keep their brother band 3T together. It’s not just one brother’s fault and the strain does affect each of them differently. Taryll has voiced his frustration the most and the loudest. And he’s also frustrated at home with the mother of his two kids, Breana “Bre” Cabral.

On the season finale of the show, Bre tells the 40-year-old Taryll that she wants to get married. But Taryll is still wary after nine years of being with Bre. “I don’t even know what we are,” he tells her. “If it ain’t you, it’s gonna to be someone else,” she threatens Taryll. Bre then lashes out at Taryll in front of the family at dinner. TJ tries to moderate: “It’s been nine years (that Bre and Taryll have been together), you guys should be able to make this decision.” Bre insists Taryll “does not treat me the way a woman should be treated.” And then she sticks the knife in Taryll’s heart, “I don’t want my sons to turn out like him.” Well, if you want to marry a man who you don’t think is a good role model for your sons, maybe it’s time to leave. The Jacksons: Next Generation airs Fridays at 10pm on Lifetime.
