On Season 9 of The Voice, artists Barrett Baber and Madi Davis have made it to the Top 10. Baber is on Team Shelton with teenagers Emily Ann Roberts and Zach Seabaugh. The pressure is on Madi as she’s the only one left on Team Pharrell. Barrett and Madi are talented singers but they also pride themselves on being songwriters.

In a 3-minute video, Barrett and Madi discuss the tribulations of songwriting and how it sometimes feels corporate – trying to figure out what people will like. Barrett admits to sometimes writing a song and wondering what lyric items Florida Georgia Line would put in. “Something about trucks,” he says. “And Silo cups.” Madi adds, “Something about the American flag.” Together the two joke about writing a Florida Georgia Line-inspired song called, “Red, White and Brew.” The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
