Elle King rocked it out on the finale of Dancing With the Stars. For many Americans watching at home, it was an introduction. But King has a big following in the indie music world. With her hit “Ex’s & Oh’s’” she’s been selling out venues across the US including The Vogue in Indianapolis and The Blue Note in Columbus, Ohio.
King didn’t come from nowhere. Born Tanner Elle Schneider, the 26-year-old from Los Angeles is the daughter of SNL comedian Rob Schneider and former model London King. They divorced when Elle was young and her mother remarried. At 9, Elle’s stepfather Justin Tesa gave her a record by The Donnas which made Elle want to become a musician. One year later Elle made her acting debut as “Cookie Girl” in her father’s movie Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo
