Actress Blake Lively is shooting the forthcoming drama/thriller The Shallows in Queensland, Australia. She plays a young surfer who’s been stranded on a buoy alone. Although she’s just 20 yards from the shore, there’s a sadistic white shark circling her. The Shallows is directed by Catalan filmmaker Jaume Collet-Serra who knows how to freak people out. He directed Liam Neeson in Unknown and Non-Stop, and Peter Sarsgaard in Orphan. The Shallows will be released on June 24, 2016, right in time for everyone to return to the beach.
From the wet set, Lively posted a photo on Instagram of her with wet hair, wearing a robe with bloody feet, holding a live seagull. The caption: “NO: This is not the opening scene in Dumb & Dumber YES: That is a real Seagull.” Dumb & Dumber isn’t the first movie that came to mind.
