Laura’s singing partner Marisol is portrayed by Raquel Castro. The soon-to-be 21-year-old has been acting since she was 4. She was a regular on Sesame Street and Nick Jr. At 10, she landed her first lead role in Jersey Girl with Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez (Castro plays their daughter, Gertie). Since then she’s appeared on Law & Order: SVU, MTV’s Awkward., and has a recurring role as South Salamanca on Liv and Maddie. Empire airs Wednesdays at 9pm on FOX.
