Tension is high on the reality TV show Sister Wives. Meri Brown divorced husband Kody so that he could legally marry wife #4 Robyn. (That way he could legally adopt Robyn’s three children from her previous marriage.) Although it was made clear by Kody that the new marriage was simply a restructuring to suit the courts, it wasn’t easy for Meri. And it brought out a lot of emotion from Christine too, who has never been as vocal as Robyn. The family could use a little comic relief.

In walks Janelle’s oldest daughter Madison (“Maddie”) to provide just that. She asks to speak with Janelle, Kody and Christine whom she considers the closest to a second mom (although she really has four now). When she walks everyone into Kody’s office for a private chat, Maddie looks at Kody and says, “You’re going to be a grandpa.” Dead silence breaks when Maddie laughs, “I’m just kidding.” The expression on Kody’s face is priceless. “I wasn’t sure whether to be excited or…” After Maddie gets her giggles out, her father says, “Don’t mess with me.” Truth is Maddie and her boyfriend Caleb are now engaged. Sister Wives airs Sundays at 9pm on TLC.
