Former late night talk show host Jay Leno has traded in his suit and tie for a denim shirt and jeans. The car enthusiast will invite guests into his garage. The Salt Lake Tribune claims that the comedian’s new show, Jay Leno’s Garage, isn’t just for people who are obsessed with cars. “Even if you don’t know any more about automobiles than how to pump gas into one, it’s a good time.”
Leno’s first guests will include fellow former standup comedian Tim Allen. They’ll race muscle cars. Leno opts for a 1971 Dodge Challenger. Leno compares it to “your sister’s high-school football boyfriend” saying it’s “Big. Stupid. But, oh my God, strong as an ox!” Leno will also leave his garage to meet the first female Pro Stock Drag Racing champion, Erica Enders-Stevens, on the drag strip. The 31-year-old from Houston, Texas started racing at the age of 8. Disney made a movie about Enders-Stevens’ life, Right On Track. (Erica was portrayed by Beverly Mitchell, Lucy from 7th Heaven). Jay Leno’s Garage airs Wednesdays at 10pm on CNBC.
