Beth Stern isn’t exactly Yoko Ono, though a lot of serious Howard Stern fans think Howard (aka Fartman) lost a bit of his edge (and his gas) when he married the former Beth Ostrosky. Some Stern diehards believe that without Beth Stern, there would be no new-age America’s Got Talent judging for Howard, and no going mainstream. It would be just ribald radio all the time, same as before with Howard and the Wack Pack lighting up the morning for millions — voice only, no getting all dressed up for the cameras.
But for those willing to give Stern his due, his second marriage certainly hasn’t slowed him down. And there’s plenty to admire about his choice of bride. Beth Stern is a dedicated animal rights activist and also an author, having written two New York Times bestsellers for children. Now she’s got another coming out in time for the holidays, and it’s already Amazon’s #1 new release in the Children’s Special Needs Books category. If her husband is getting soft, maybe it’s the couple’s kittens — Apple, Walter, Leon Bear, Charlie, Bella, and Yoda — and not Beth that’s to blame. The last kitty is the star of the Stern’s new book, Yoda Gets a Buddy, a follow up to Yoda’s previous adventures.
