FOX is airing its TV adaptation of the 2002 sci-fi film Minority Report. In the TV show, a cop in the future – 2065, Washington, DC – tries to stop horrific crimes before they happen. She gets the help of Dash, a young man, “a precog,” who can see the future.
Detective Lara Vega is portrayed by Meagan Good (Mr. Robinson, Californication). Dash is portrayed by Stark Sands. He’s been in several TV shows including Six Feet Under (Toby) and the cop show NYC 22, but many will recognize him as Troy Nelson from the Coen Brothers’ 2013 film Inside Llewyn Davis. The show isn’t getting rave reviews. The Verge writes: “Minority Report is still disappointingly predictable, and by taking the perspective of law enforcement, it ends up reversing the points the film tried to make.” But it looks good. And maybe America doesn’t want a show that breaks new ground — we’ll see. The pilot of Minority Report will premiere on Monday, September 21 at 9pm on Fox.
