Bruce Beresford-Redman is a 46-year-old American serving 12 years in a Mexican prison for murdering his wife Monica Burgos. The couple was vacationing in Cancun, with their two children, when Monica was found dead near the resort where they were staying. She had been strangled and dumped in a sewer. Beresford-Redman was questioned by the police and told not to leave the country, but he did. He crossed the border and took a train back to his home in Los Angeles. He was eventually arrested by US Marshals, returned to Mexico, and convicted of murdering his wife.
