The film The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials is based on the dystopian novel of the same title. It’s the second book of the series written by James Dashner. Book reviewers describe the series as a mix of The Hunger Games and Divergent. In the film, the protagonist is portrayed by MTV’s Teen Wolf, Dylan O’Brien.

In a Q&A on Amazon, Dashner admits that he and his son did get lost in a corn maze once. “I didn’t think I’d get lost in a Halloween corn maze!” he wrote. “But as soon as we realized that we had no idea how to get out I used the trick Thomas learned in the first book–turning right no matter what–and sure enough, we got out. I have a lot more respect for corn mazes now!”
