ABC TV correspondent Ryan Smith travels to Zimbabwe in Africa to investigate the death of Cecil the Lion. He tries to re-trace the steps of Minnesota dentist Dr. Walter Palmer who hunted down and killed the biggest dominant male black-maned lion in Hwange National Park.

Smith is best known as a correspondent and legal analyst for ABC News, and a legal analyst for ESPN. This summer he has been covering “DeflateGate” and the death of Sandra Bland. Smith is an alum of Syracuse University and Columbia Law School. Prior to TV, he worked as a lawyer for the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars. He lives in New York with his wife and twin boys. Smith’s report on Cecil the Lion will air on ABC’s 20/20 on August 14 at 10pm.
