On the new TV show Impastor, loan shark on the run Buddy Dobbs steals a man’s identity. Turns out the dead man, Jonathan Barlow, was a small town’s new gay pastor. Of course Buddy doesn’t know anything about holding a Sunday service, but he wings it with an “unorthodox approach.” Some find it refreshing, others are livid.
Buddy is portrayed by Michael Rosenbaum. He’s best known for his roles in Smallville (Lex Luthor) and Justice League (The Flash/Wally West). Rosenbaum knows something about small towns. He goes back to his hometown in Indiana (Newburgh) every summer to play in an annual Wiffle ball tournament. Impastor airs Wednesdays at 10:30pm on TVLand.
