While filming Real Housewives of Orange County, Vicki Gunvalson receives news that her mother, Joanne Steinmetz, has died. A camera captures Vicki on the phone and then collapsing onto the floor, devastated by the news. Vicki later shared a tribute to her mother on social media: “My amazing, beautiful and strong mother passed on and is now with the love of her life my father in heaven. I am who I am today, because of her.”

Steinmetz died suddenly and unexpectedly in her home. She was 83. Vicki’s sister Lisa wrote on Facebook that she was the one to find her mother. She “died in her bed, appears to be peacefully. (sic) ” Vicki’s father, William Steinmetz, died in 1997 at the age of 67. Real Housewives of Orange County airs Mondays at 9pm on Bravo.
