In 2011, funnyman Fred Willard was caught exposing himself in an adult theatre. He didn’t suffer a media backlash as severe as what Paul Reubens (Pee-Wee Herman) had to endure after caught masturbating in an adult theatre in 1991. Unlike Reubens who had his show pulled off of CBS and Pee-Wee Herman merchandise pulled off the shelves, Willard kept working after completing his sex education diversion program. And not just one-off roles. Willard continued to play Phil’s father Frank Dunphey on America’s most popular sitcom, Modern Family.
There’s good news for Pee-Wee Herman fans. After nearly 25 years, Reubens is reprising his most famous role for the film Pee-wee’s Big Holiday for Netflix. If the Big Holiday is a big hit, it could dramatically increase Reubens’ net worth of $5 million. Willard, btw, is worth $10 million.
