It’s an old story, but AMC is reviving the tale of how organized crime got started in America in its new series The Making of the Mob. The first episode focuses on Charles “Lucky” Luciano. When Luciano arrives in New York City from Sicily, he teams up with Meyer Lansky and Bugsy Siegel. “Making millions, killing thousands, and changing the face of crime forever” is the tagline of The Making of the Mob. The first episodes look almost identical to the flashbacks in The Godfather.
Lucky Luciano is portrayed by New York City native Rick Graff. (He too is the son of immigrant parents.) Graff is best known for his role as Aeneas in Insurgent. But if you want to see another, softer side of Graff, check out the independent film, Just Short of Sidekick. It’s a short film about an elementary school kid and a janitor (Graff) who join forces to fight crime. The Making of the Mob premieres Monday, June 15 at 10pm on AMC.
