Fox is launching a fun new quiz show this summer called Boom! Teams of three players try to defuse the ticking slime-bomb by answering questions correctly. If they get a question wrong, stand back – a bomb of slimy substance is dropped onto top them. The substance varies from maple syrup to mashed potatoes to guacamole. But if a team can avoid the sticky stuff, the big bomb at the end will unleash $500,000!
The host of the game is standup comedian Tom Papa. You might recognize him from the movies, too. He starred opposite Matt Damon in the Steven Soderbergh film The Informant!, and again with Damon in the TV movie about Liberace, Behind the Candelabra. Boom! isn’t the first time Papa has played host on TV. He got in between celebrity couples on Jerry Seinfeld’s reality couple therapy/quiz show, Marriage Ref. Boom! airs Thursdays at 8pm on Fox.
