Steven Bailey Williams was a popular Denver disc jockey who inherited $1.8 million when his father died. He met a man named Harvey Morrow who claimed to have known his father and introduced himself as a retired investment banker. Morrow helped Williams get his finances in order and said he’d open an off-shore account for Steven, to help protect his money. Only Morrow had access to the account. He essentially kept Steven on an allowance.
Morrow convinced Williams to go on a long sailing trip with him. Williams body was found off Catalina Island, California. Police initially thought it was a drowning but the coroner found a gunshot wound. Morrow as sentenced for the first-degree murder of Williams with special circumstances of murder for financial gain. Morrow is spending his life in prison without the possibility of parole.
