Hannibal found a passionate audience, but it just wasn’t big enough for the Peacock Network. With Hannibal, creator Bryan Fuller delivered a fully engaged and engaging TV show weekly. NBC gave Hannibal two-plus years — and it’ll run the third season in full too, ending September 3 — but the innovative show was probably always better suited to cable. It may end up there too. Expect an Internet outcry from those passionate fans about the cancellation. And expect a smaller channel that doesn’t need NBC level ratings to swoop in and maybe give this serial killer new life.
