Author George R.R. Martin is sick of fans using his Live Journal (which he insists is not a blog, hence the name Not A Blog) to ask him questions about the decisions that Game of Thrones showrunners Dan Weiss and David Benioff have made, insisting that he has no say in the matter. He has no time for discussions about the death of Shireen or if that is in fact the Mountain lying beneath that sheet. “It is not my intention to get involved in those, nor to allow them to take over my blog and website, so please stop emailing me about them, or posting off-topic comments here on my Not A Blog,” he writes. “Wage those battles on Westeros, or Tower of the Hand, or Boiled Leather, or Winter Is Coming, or Watchers on the Walls. Anyplace that isn’t here, actually.”

Martin goes on to state that although The Hollywood Reporter recently called him “the third most powerful writer in Hollywood,” he “cannot control what anyone else says or does, or make them stop saying or doing it, be it on the fannish or professional fronts.” Humblebragging aside, Martin does have a point. He is a busy man, although it should be noted he still manages to find time to post daily on his Live Journal. Perhaps he wouldn’t be so irked at his fans if he simply stayed off the Internet and got back to writing The Winds of Winter.
