To help raise awareness of child poverty and to raise funds to help lift children out of poverty, NBC is airing Red Nose Day, a three-hour fundraiser on May 21 (8pm). Appearances will be made by funny folks including Will Ferrell, Jennifer Aniston and Seth Meyers, among many more.
“A good laugh for a good cause” is the tagline, which makes sense as Red Nose Day is a program of the UK non-profit organization Comic Relief. The funds raised during the Red Nose Day campaign will be given to a variety of nonprofit organizations including 12 organizations based in the US. Some of these are Oxfam, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Save the Children, Feeding America and United Way. Donations are accepted here.
