Vintage Shorts, an eBook publisher from one of the grand old publishing houses, is issuing a story a day for 99 cents each to celebrate short story month this May. Most are either old or recent classics, though one story each week has never been published before.
The Murders In The Rue Morgue first appeared in 1841. It has all the grisly, haunting, spooky intelligence that has made Poe’s frightening vision endure for almost two centuries. Some say it’s the first modern detective story.
So far this month Vintage Shorts has featured:
The Office by Alice Munro
The Wizard of West Orange by Steven Millhauser
Cartagena by Nam Le
Ajax Is All About Attack by Jim Shepard
Full House by Maeve Binchy
Ice by Toni Cade Bambera
