On the season finale of American Idol, former judge and Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler sang his new song Love Is Your Name. The song is from his first solo album, which is produced by Idol mentor Scott Borchetta. He had the audience — and the judges — on their feet.
Tyler was later joined on stage with Idol contestant Jax. Together they sang Janis Joplin‘s “Piece of My Heart.” At one point, while singing, Jax pulled the mic away from Tyler. We’ve never seen that happen. And then after the performance, she stepped on Ryan Seacrest‘s toes to get the closure she didn’t get the night before (when she didn’t make it to the finals).
