On the season four premiere of Gypsy Sisters, everyone gathers around for what should be a happy occasion, Mellie’s baby shower. But Nellie loses it when she finds out her sister Mellie is naming the baby after her new friend Kayla. Nellie doesn’t direct her anger at Mellie, she goes straight after Kayla. “Kayla knows how we name our children,” says Nellie during an interview after the shower. “But when Mellie started this naming business, Kayla should have said ‘No, Mellie, name your baby after your sisters.’ But I know Kayla couldn’t resist to stir that pot.”
“I didn’t persuade her to name that baby after me,” Kayla yelled back at Nellie. “I didn’t ask her to name it after me. That was her decision!” But Nellie is having none of it: “Kayla is using my baby sister to get at me.” Mellie walks out. Gypsy Sisters airs Sundays at 10pm on TLC. P.S. Mellie doesn’t name the baby Kayla or Nellie.
