The delightful actress Florence Henderson — for better and worse inextricably linked to her character Carol Brady on The Brady Bunch — revealed some new info about her indelible role. The patched together Brady Bunch needed to dispose of two parents in order for the formula to work. The lovely lady bringing up three very lovely girls couldn’t have a husband in the picture if she was going to team up with Mike Brady, architect and single dad.
The fate of the Brady girls’ biological dad was never revealed — until now. Henderson told the HuffPost Show that Carol killed her spouse and father of Marsha, Jan, and Cindy. Carol was the “original black widow,” Henderson said. Then she said no, but it wasn’t convincing. “I always just say I got rid of him,” Henderson said. It’s not the first time, obviously, that she’s been asked.
