Dexter Roberts finished in seventh place on the thirteenth season of American Idol. But that hasn’t kept him from pursuing a successful career in the music business. It wasn’t easy. Dexter had to leave the American Idol’s LIVE! Tour in 2014 due to illness. He contracted Rocky Mountain Spotted Tick Fever after getting bit by four ticks during a turkey hunt in Kentucky.

Now recovered, the 23-year-old from Fayette, Alabama is making a comeback. He signed with First Launch Records and will perform his first single “Dream About Me” on American Idol.
