Actress Rita Wilson was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a double mastectomy as well as reconstructive surgery. Her stepson Colin Hanks, who was recently on Late Show with David Letterman, announced that Wilson is cancer-free.
Her illness caused her to step down from her role in the Broadway show “Fish in the Dark.” She played playwright/star Larry David’s wife, Brenda. On May 5, Wilson went back to work. She wrote on Facebook: “I want people to know that even though you go through life altering experiences, that this beautiful thing we call life, goes on. I know that not everyone will have this good fortune but I think it’s important to let you all know that there are good stories.”
