The writers of Law & Order: SVU are ripping another story from the headlines. In the episode called “Devastating Story”, a college student named Heather Manning claims that she was gang-raped at a fraternity house. The show will examine the role social media plays in such a court case. While some on Twitter start protesting against the fraternity, others don’t seem to completely buy the young woman’s story. For better or for worse, the young woman has “become the face of a movement.”
The college student is portrayed by Ally Ioannides. She’s best known for her role as Dylan Jones on Parenthood. Law & Order: SVU airs Wednesdays at 9pm on NBC.
