On American Idol, contestant Jax performed Lady Gaga’s cover “Poker Face.” While judge Jennifer Lopez commended Jax for having “the audience in the palm of your hand,” she also warned Jax. “This is yours to lose. You don’t want to go so far left that people can’t relate. I couldn’t relate to that song musically knowing that song so well. Just be careful,” said Lopez.
Jax clearly admires Lady Gaga. She even studies with Gaga’s vocal coach in New York! But if she wants to make it to the Top 6, Jax will need to suppress her inner “Little Monster” and make the next songs her own. The Top 6 will perform two songs each on American Idol on April 15, 8pm on Fox.
