The powerful and impressive singer India Carney is heading to the Live Playoffs on The Voice. (She’s on Team Xtina.) Every singer on the show has worked hard to get to this point. But India started particularly early in life. She said when her parents saw her tinkering on the keys of their piano at home, in Brooklyn, they saw it as a sign.
“My mother took me to weekly Mommy & Me music classes starting at 6 months old, and I was studying at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music by the time I was 2,” said India. “I had the experience of using different instruments and understanding rhythm. I not only learned about music, but I also was able to create music. Soon after, I began taking classical piano and flute lessons and joined a community choir.” Before attending and graduating from LaGuardia Arts High School (the Fame school in New York City), she was homeschooled.
