Three dancers of the Abby Lee Dance Company – Nia, Maddie and Kendall – are feeling the pressure with solo performances. But it’s Nia who’s really feeling the heat. She’s been singled out with an ultimatum from Abby. The 13-year-old Nia isn’t the strongest dancer but she keeps striving to become one. She joined the ALDC when she was five.
But don’t worry about Nia. While she gave up karate lessons to focus on dance (she has a purple belt!), she’s now pursuing a singing career. After working with Nia for his Freaks Like Me music video, former American Idol contestant Todrick Hall complimented her for having an amazing singing voice. Nia plans to release a single sometime later in the year. Dance Moms airs Tuesdays at 9pm on Lifetime.
