SNL alum Kristen Wiig won an Emmy nomination for her role in The Spoils of Babylon. So it’s no wonder that she’s coming back for more. Wiig will star in the second installment of the show, The Spoils Before Dying. The show is set in the early 1960s LA jazz scene. The protagonist is Rock (Michael Kenneth Williams), who is on the run after his girlfriend (Maya Rudolph) turns up dead. According to EW, “He flees to Mexico to reunite with his former big-band singer Delores O’Dell (Wiig)…before they head back to the US to prove his innocence.”
Expect lots of celebrity appearances. Actors Michael Sheen (Masters of Sex, The Queen) and Val Kilmer (Batman Forever, Top Gun) are just two who will return with new roles. New to the franchise will be Bérénice Marlohe, the anti-heroine Bond girl Sévérine in Skyfall. The six-part mini-series will debut this summer on IFC.
