Patty Hearst, the media heiress who said she was kidnapped by the radical group the Symbionese Liberation Army and who helped rob a bank in 1974, loves dogs. Hearst’s shih tzu, Rocket, was selected this week as the top toy dog at the Westminster Kennel Club show in New York.
Hearst, now 61, will be at the show on Tuesday, February 17, when Rocket will compete with six other dogs in the championship ring for the “Best In Show” title. Hearst knows how to influence powerful people–including people who judge. Her prison sentence was commuted by President Jimmy Carter and later President Bill Clinton issued her a full pardon.
