It’s been 20 years since the cult classic movie Clueless starring Alicia Silverstone as Cher hit theatres. To celebrate its anniversary, the movie soundtrack will be reissued on vinylon April 7. Popular tracks by 90s favorites Radiohead (Fake Plastic Trees), Counting Crows (The Ghost In You), Beastie Boys (Mullet Head), Coolio (Rollin’ With My Homies), the Muffs (Kids in America), and more will be included.
Last year, Aussie rapper Iggy Azalea gave a nod to the film in her Fancy video. Clueless director Amy Heckerling said of the video: “It looked like they had more money for the video than I had for the movie.” (The Clueless movie budget was $12 million.) Heckerling is now working on adapting the film into a Broadway musical. She said Katy Perry expressed interest but as Heckerling said/hoped, “Maybe Iggy wants to do it!” If Heckerling can’t get Perry or Azalea, Charli XCX might be game.
