Legendary filmmaker Woody Allen has agreed to write and direct his first TV series. Amazon ordered a full season of the Untitled Woody Allen Project, a half-hour series. THR reports, it will be available next year on Amazon’s Prime Instant Video service in the US, UK and Germany.
Allen said in a statement: “I don’t know how I got into this. I have no ideas and I’m not sure where to begin. My guess is that Roy Price will regret this.” Roy Price is Amazon Studios vice president who is competing with Netflix hits likes House of Cards. Allen can rest easy, Price comes from a long line of Hollywood execs. His father, Frank, was president of Universal Pictures in the 1980s and his grandfather Roy Huggins, created the TV show The Rockford Files.
