TLC is about to premiere its latest reality TV show, My Husband’s Not Gay. Unless stopped by the number of petitions circulated by GLAAD, it will debut on Sunday, January 11.
The show follows four Mormon men in Salt Lake City, Utah, who say they’re attracted to men but aren’t gay. They’ve chosen to live with women. 3 of the 4 men are married to women. One man on the show says, “I like to say I’ve chosen an alternative to an alternative lifestyle.” GLAAD president and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis told THR: “No one can change who they love, and, more importantly, no one should have to. By investing in this dangerous programming, TLC is putting countless young LGBT people in harm’s way.”
