Big Yellow Taxi singer Joni Mitchell doesn’t leave her Los Angeles home much these days–with the exception of an annual trip to her native Canada where she’s working on a four-part ballet based on her 40-year catalog of music. Mitchell just released a boxed set, Love Has Many Faces: A Quartet, A Ballet, Waiting To Be Danced.
.
Mitchell, now 71 years old, has a rare skin condition, Morgellons Disease, which makes singing or performing nearly impossible. She says she doesn’t miss either. Instead, she paints and is eager to start writing a collection of short stories. No doubt she’ll seek the Canadian genius of short stories, Nobel Laureate Alice Munro, for a blurb.
