Prepare for a lot of snappy dialogue and verbal wit as crisp as a Fall day in Star’s Hollow because Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel are going to have a ‘Gilmore Girls’ reunion. The show, currently dominating Netflix, is celebrating its 15th anniversary next year, and the two actresses are planning to reunite with creator Amy Sherman-Palladino. The three will get together in Austin, Texas at the ATX Television Festival. Palladino is excited about the prospect. “So, after years of peace and quiet, these lunatics have chosen to get the chattiest chicks in the world back under one roof? Really? Okay. You asked for it….Gilmore was the highlight of my ridiculous life. I can’t wait to sit with these unbelievable broads and relive a time where sleep did not exist, where stress and coffee were mama’s little helpers, and where we all dove into the deep end together to make something weird and very very cool.”
Lauren Graham is also keen for a reunion, and mulled the possibility – we stress possibility – of a reprisal of Lorelai. “I’m always conflicted about [a Gilmore reunion],” she told E! “It wasn’t a satisfying ending. And with all this time that’s gone by, would [viewers] actually feel disappointed because it wouldn’t be the thing you’d wanted all this time?” Something tells me the show’s legion of devoted fans would welcome seeing Lorelai and Rory one more time, as long as they’re ensconced on the sofa, eating popcorn and watching 1940s movies, with Luke somewhere in the yard fixing something and grumbling a lot, wearing flannel and a backwards baseball cap.
